The Training of The Youths of Sumba Hospitality Foundation Through our avidOutReach Program, we had the opportunity to provide the Sumba Hospitality Foundation’s students and staff with empowerment through the delivery of a one-week leadership and personal development program.
The program’s modules, which included Leading in Customer-Centric Culture, Coaching, Effective Communication in Hospitality, The CorporateAthlete, and Managing Generation Gap, were designed to engage and motivate the participants.
It gives us great pleasure to share the news that we have facilitated 12 devoted staff members and 57 enthusiastic students consisting of 36 girls and 21 boys from five different departments – front office, cleaning, culinary, and spa & wellness restaurant & bar.
On the final day of the program, we were able to organize a team-building activity for the students as a means of teaching them how to trust one another and work together to achieve common objectives. This team-building activity aimed to develop among the kids a sense of leadership, effective communication, and mutual trust.
We had a great time there and felt honored to be a part of the initiative that aimed to end the cycle of poverty by improving the students’ employability rates and the lives of their families.
